These are Aliens we made in our flash book. I learned how to use animation. Which for me was really exciting because I am terrible at drawing and I think my aliens turned out pretty cute. I liked working in the flash book because it was fun. I just think the unit was a little long.
For our business assignment I actually handed in Mr Smith this huge embarrassing ball of work. Mostly because I wasn't so good at computers. The reason I'm posting this is because I did do the assignment I just can't post it. It consisted of a huge write up on Hbc and a long timeline. I learned that Mr smith likes things done on the computer. I relize now that this assignment was actually very easy to do on the computer.

Mutual Fund (continued)
For this assignment we had to record stocks for Nasdaq, Dow, and our choice. I chose banking and financial. We had to make a logo and present a presentation to the class to show our findings. As you can see I made a small error in Dow. I didn't mind this assignment, it was fun. I learned a lot about stocks. I learned to buy low not high. We learned thay everything changes in the market all the time

Terrible Peripheral Assignment
The Microphone
A microphone is a device that converts acoustic power into electric power. The power convert’s sound waves into electric voltages that eventually convert back into sound waves through speakers. The microphone was used with the first telephones. The microphone is able to take a humans voice and make it louder and clearer when you talk into the device. This invention has saved many people’s voices. (Think singers and actors). Microphones also make it possible for performers to have a bigger venue because they are able to project their voice to more people using the microphone.
Sir Charles Wheatstone came up with the name"microphone" in 1827. It was actuallyEmile Berliner who invented the first microphone in 1876. Emile Berliner was born in Germany in 1951. When he was 19, he moved to Washington. When he got there, he studied physics part time at Cooper Institute. He studied physics and spent his time helping out in the chemistry lab. He was inspired by Alexander Graham Bell and decided that he wanted to discover a way in which sound can be recorded and repeated.
In 1876, when Emile was 25 he invented the gramophone, and then later the microphone as a telephone voice transmitter. The microphone became widely popular as it recorded sounds out of speakers at a volume louder than the human voice. The Bell Telephone Company was extremely impressed with the invention and later bought Berliner's microphone for $50,000.
In 1878, David Edward Hughes invented an improved microphone, the first carbon microphone. He was able to transmit the sounds louder and more clear. His original design was improved in 1920. In 1964, James West and Gerhard Sessler from Bell Laboratories invented the electret microphone. The electret microphone was reliable, smaller, and cheaper. The invention made an impact in the microphone industry.

I HATED drawing this diagram because I can't draw. I didn;t mind the writeup. Other than that I learned a lot about microphones and speakers.

Didn't like drawing this diagram either.
Business Card Assignment
So Here is my business card. It's not very colourful, next time I'm going to add more colour. I put Audrey Hepburn on the card because of the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. I didn't really learn anything I didn't already know. I did however enjoy this assignment, mostly because it didn't take me forever because it wasn't terribly challenging.
